Dan Hoffarth
Chief Executive Officer

Dan has come up through the ranks, starting his career as a Floorhand and working through all positions in a drilling contractor environment. Pre-Citadel, Dan was VP Marketing for Nabors Drilling. Experienced in start-up, mid-size and large company environments in domestic and international roles, Dan brings to the company a depth in management, construction, sales and operational capacities. He is a founding member of Citadel Drilling with over 27 years of experience in the drilling and service sector of the industry.


Corey Zahn
Chief Financial Officer

Corey is a founding member of Citadel Drilling and brings a wealth of experience formulating and executing on financial and operating strategies. Corey has been VP Finance and CFO of seven public and private oil and gas service companies, most recently Palko Environmental and Century Frac Services. Mr. Zahn also spent 14 years with KPMG LLP as a senior manager, a role that afforded him a broad range of experience in corporate finance, tax and accounting activities.


Doug Robinson

As a founding member and Company Controller, Doug’s strengths lie in implementing user-friendly finance and operating systems that work soundly. He has held Controller or Management positions with Wellco Energy Services, Peak Energy Services, Century Frac Services and Calfrac Well Services, where he was Manager of Financial and Business Systems for all countries in which Calfrac operated. He brings over 19 years of experience strengthening finances in the oil and gas service industry.


Dave Hoffman
General Manager, Operations

Dave joined Citadel in April 2014 as a Drilling Superintendent and has 20 years of experience in the drilling industry. Dave started as Floorhand and worked through the ranks to Rig Manager prior to being promoted to Field Superintendent at Nabors Drilling. He has spent the past 9 years directly working with AC triple walking rigs using a wide variety of pad configurations in long-reach horizontal shale gas plays. Dave was promoted to the role of General Manager in May 2018, and is in charge of all operations for Citadel Drilling.


Mike Combden
Drilling Superintendent

Mike started his career in 1994 with a small drilling contractor where the pace was fast, atmosphere warm and great opportunities existed. Prior to joining the Citadel team in 2014, he was a Drilling Superintendent for Nabors Canada where his area of expertise was multi-well pads with walking AC and DC Rigs. Mike’s position with the company has been diversified between construction, maintenance and rig managing across the fleet. In May of 2018, he was promoted to the position of Drilling Superintendent.


Barry Little
Construction and Maintenance Manager

Drilling rigs must be in Barry’s blood because he’s managed or assisted in the construction of over 20 drilling rigs. Many were the AC variety similar to the rigs Citadel is building. He has also managed the retrofit and recertification of over 30 drilling rigs. Barry began his drilling career in the field over 20 years ago with Trinidad Drilling and has also worked with Precision Drilling, Lakota Drilling and most recently as Construction Superintendent for Savanna Drilling. Barry’s prior experience and general drilling rig knowledge are great assets to Citadel’s operations.


Dave Wicks
Sales and Contract Manager

With over 21 years of sales experience, the past 12 years directly in the oil and gas industry, Dave focuses on marketing drilling rigs of various depth capacities while establishing professional relationships with his clients. It’s his ability to create strong and lasting relationships that makes Dave a great asset to Citadel. Prior to joining us, he was with Nabors Drilling where he sold AC and pad-style drilling rigs similar to the rigs Citadel is building.


Wayne Wait
QHSE Manager

Wayne started with Citadel Drilling in March of 2014 and has over 40 years of drilling industry experience, most recently as HSE Manager for Nabors Drilling Canada. He began his career working on drilling rigs and worked his way up to Rig Manager and WellSite Supervisor at various companies. Wayne transitioned into the safety field in 1987 and is renowned for his understanding of safety industry requirements, both for employees and clients as they relate to the drilling industry.


Roy Cleveland
Human Resources Manager

Roy Cleveland joined Citadel Drilling on January 26, 2015 as the new Human Resources Manager. Roy brings to the Company more than 25 years of experience working in human resources. He has a strong generalist background and has held similar leadership roles in the transportation, logistics and telecommunications industries. Roy holds an MBA from Royal Roads University and is recognized as a Certified Human Resources Professional.


Brandon Smith
QHSE Manager (US Operations)

Brandon recently started with Citadel Drilling in August of 2018 and has over 20 years of Health and safety experience. Brandon served in the United States Air Force for almost 10 years as a Fire and Emergency Services Manager and was a contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan providing health and safety inspections and services for multi-national forces deployed in the Fight on Terror. Brandon transitioned from his military and governmental experience into the oil and gas drilling sector in 2010, most recently working as the HSE Manager for Savanna Drilling USA.


Paul Hoffman
Sr. Rig Manager, US Operations

Paul came to Citadel Drilling in May of 2014 as a rig manager for rig 1 – “The Titan”. He has over 21 years experience in the oil and gas industry, with over a decade in senior leadership roles. Prior to starting with Citadel he was a field superintendent for Nabors Drilling. Paul has recently accepted the role as SR. Rig Manager, US Operations, for Citadel where he can focus his experience in supporting the other rig managers with daily operations.
